Coloured Pants How to...

With the increase in the coloured pants trend (and sporting a couple of pairs myself), more and more I hear my friends saying..
"They look great on you but I'm too fat/skinny/bottom heavy/short/not trendy enough/blah blah blah" to pull them off.."
Ladies - this is all fine and good but they are lies! Not only are you all beautiful and sexy BUT you can wear coloured bottoms and I am here to tell you how...

For starters no one ever said there was a rule that coloured pants had to be skin tight. There are those of the 'looser' kind such a Gypsy Pants, Flares or Chinos. These can be worn with a tight top or a loose fitting shirt/blouse for a more relaxed feel.
Then there are the skinnies. You can wear a tight top for a defined silhouette or a long blouse to cover your bottom and crotch area if you are paranoid. If you want to show your JLo Butt but hide that tummy just wear a loose fitting top and tuck it in or knot it up.
If you feel you are vertically challenged, to elogate the leg opt for a tailored flare cut you can wear with heels to create the illusion of height or if you are already lucky in the height stakes opt for a cropped style.
In terms of colours, if you are worried you are too bottom heavy then opt for your more opaque shades such as your burgundys, darker greens & blues as these hide the flaws a little better. Red or orange tones in a loose style also sit very well.
For the thinner ladies out there show em what you got and wear the brightest of the bright with corals, emerald green, sapphire blue, bright yellow and pink.

Note - When wearing colours down low, I say keep it simple up top. Creams and off whites look great, as does white & black.
If you are going with a colour blocking look then dont wear colours that contrast too much ie, if you wear yellow pants and a green top you will end up looking more like an Aussie Kangaroo flag than a trendy colour blocker so I would suggest try a bright blue, pink or orange top which provides just enough contrast while still looking good..
or..
You can wear light on dark or viceversa if in doubt. ie, Bright Aqua pants, pastel aqua top etc..

And Shoes you ask? This is dependant on the rest of the outfit however if in doubt, nude.. a rule of thumb is nude tones can make almost any (not all) outfits tie in together and work.
Now tell me, do you still think you cant wear coloured pants?!
